New Prinsco Plant Opens in Fresno, CA
For over 30 years, Prinsco, Inc. has been manufacturing corrugated high-density polyethylene pipe (HDPE) from its facilities located in the Midwest. Now, Prinsco is stretching its distinctive gold stripe all the way to the Golden State.
Prinsco
opened its new manufacturing and distribution facility in Fresno, California in
late summer. "It's a market that's been showing consistent and growing
demand for polyethylene pipe – especially recycled products," says Jamie
Duininck, Vice President of Sales at Prinsco, Inc. "It was time to expand our
business beyond the Midwest in order to reduce unnecessary transportation
costs," he added.
With
plants already in Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri, this is Prinsco's
first venture into the west coast market. "We're excited to bring our trusted
Midwest values and hard work ethic to a market we were previously unable to
reach effectively due to shipping constraints," says
Duininck.
From
its new facility in Fresno, Prinsco can now reach key west coast and
international markets. It is also conveniently located an equidistant 200 miles
from either Los Angeles or San Francisco.
"Fresno
has a strong labor pool and a competitive manufacturing environment, as compared
to the Bay area," says Duininck. "The people are friendly and we appreciate all
the support we've been given by the local business
community."
Steve
Geil, President and CEO of the Fresno Economic Development Commission played a
key role in bringing Prinsco to California.“Fresno
County is a world leader in water technology," says Geil. "That makes this a
perfect location for Prinsco's new manufacturing plant. Now they'll be able to
provide next day delivery anywhere in California, which gives them a huge a
competitive advantage. The EDC staff is pleased to have assisted Prinsco in
their decision process.”
Prinsco's
Fresno plant currently employs between 20-25 employees in positions ranging from
manufacturing and customer service to yard work and delivery. The staff stays
busy trying to meet the demands of its popular ECOFLO® product, an advanced
dual-wall pipe manufactured from an engineered blend of HDPE containing a
minimum of 50% recycled content.

"With
the move toward green communities, we've seen a huge increase in the demand for
our EcoFlo product," says Duininck. "It meets or exceeds all the same
performance requirements of our non-recycled pipe, but it's made from recycled
plastic."
Prinsco
offers drainage and stormwater management solutions for the agricultural,
commercial, and industrial markets. The company manufactures HDPE pipe in sizes
ranging from 3" to 60" in diameter. Common applications include stormwater
management and treatment, golf course turf and irrigation systems, commercial
landscaping, and agricultural drainage. For more information, visit Prinsco
